Hey, I'm posting! Mike wanted a review of the album I got today and thats whats he's going to get. Everybody here is doing a damn fine job and the forum is kickin'. There's been single digit temperature here in CT and I hate the cold, so i've been pretty miserable, but today I got a CD that made my day. Music has always been a big part of wrestling since the 80s, the use theme songs was simply a great idea. Theme songs let the crowd know whos comming out, and set the tone for match. They're simple, easy to remember and you can quickly associate it with the wrestler. Hell, every time I see that Beavis and Butthead DVD commercial I think of Crash Holly (he's dead like Owen Hart, LOL). But one thing has NEVER worked... wrestlers singing. We had:

and now 10 years later...
We start off in the studio with WWE musical big shit Jim Johnston and Steve Austin preparing to record Austin's track. Austin complains a lot and breaks a guitar. I was not amused by any of the Steve Austin segments (all five) and this sets the tone for the rest of the album. -D-Von and Bubba Ray Dudley have their hit track next. Its kind catchy, yet stupid. But I guess I shouldn't expect much. The bass drum was replaced by Spike Dudley's head being hit by a mallet, and they mention something about New York never giving up, so we've got a 9/11 reference (9/11 LOL). -Trish's track is next, shes not bad, but I'm not a big fan of the song. I did like this one part though:
Trish: Take it away Lance Storm! -Rey Mysterio sings in spanish and I can't understand it. What a dud. - Kevin Nash comes in to the studio and bad ass song kicks in. Next thing you hear is "AH MY CHORDS!" and a lot of coughing and choking sounds. What a great track. -Booker T's track is next, and its really good. Except the lyrics. He sings about helping out the "Little thugs" which automatically makes the song stupid. - Kurt Angle's "I don't suck" track, made me laugh so hard my gut hurt. It's besically his music redone and it has him saying "I don't... suck" and then he raps. Its classic shit. - Lita is ugly, and so is her song. - I was listening to this cd while driving around with my friend and the Los Guerreros song was a great song to turn up and be assholes to. No complaints here. - Jericho thinks he has musical talent, his two Fozzy CDs sucked and this track sucks even worse, I wish he would just give up and stick to something hes good at. Like crying over the internet. - Rikishi was given a song on this CD, which gave me some hope of a Steven Richards singing "Eye of the Tiger" track. Rikishi sings a slow r&b song called "Put a Little Ass on It". Yes, thats really the name of the song. Yes, its really as bad as you think. - Stacy Keibler said "Dance" into a microphone and they took the sample and made a horrible techno song with it. I could imagine hearing that song in a porno, but nothing else.
- Finally John Cena's "Basic Thuganomics" song makes the CD and is the only reason to get it. But what else would you expect? WWE had no part in the making of the song. I recommend this as a nice download if you need a cheap laugh. But lets face it, somebody is going to buy it, but remember that you're better than that person.
