100 Funniest Entertainers 100-81
Posted by Sexten Effect on April 23rd 2004

Here's the first post of a 5 post series. I've been told i'm a funny guy, so I must know what i'm talking about when it comes to the funny.

100. Charlie Murphy
Actor/Writer
Chapelle's Show, CB4
Though limited in feature roles, Charlie Murphy has proven himself to a large audience in his roles on Chapelle's Show. His Rick James sketch on the second season was one of the funniest things ever shown on TV.

99. Stephen Colbert
Actor/Writer/Producer
Saturday Night Live, The Daily Show, Strangers With Candy
This comedy writer is best known for his role as a correspondent on The Daily Show. He also spent a couple seasons on Saturday Night Live, and produced and acted on Strangers With Candy

98. Dave Thomas
Actor/Director/Writer
Strange Brew, SCTV, Rat Race
Actor Dave Thomas took the simple sketch "The Great White North" from SCTV and turned it into the cult movie favorite "Strange Brew". His role as John Clease's assistant in Rat Race is also very funny.

97. Christopher Lloyd
Actor
Back to the Future, The Addam's Family, Suburban Commando
The "Doc" from Back to The Future, has also had hilarious roles as Uncle Fester in the "Addam's Family" films

96. Tom Kenny
Actor/ Voice Actor
Mr. Show, Spongebob Squarepants
An accomplished voice actor, Tom Kenny's best acting role was on the hit TV series "Mr.Show", where his voices gave a cartoonish edge to the characters he played.

95. Charlie Sheen
Actor
Major League, Hot Shots
No matter what trouble Charlie Sheen gets himself into, he always seems to find work. Check out Hot Shots and Major League for some of his funniest roles.

94. Paul Mooney
Writer
Richard Pryor Show, In Living Color, Chappelle's Show
This writer for Richard Pryor, has been a writer on a hit black TV show for the last 3 decades. His most current work is on Chapelle's Show, though there are rumors that he may finally get a show of his very own.

93. Craig Ferguson
Actor
The Drew Carrey Show, The Big Tease
His character Mr.Wick on The Drew Carrey Show was a british, alcoholic, coke-head, and he played the role perfectly. In my opinion, Mr.Wick is the funniest character on any TV sitcom ever.

92. Joe Piscopo
Actor
Saturday Night Live, Sidekicks
Piscopo carried SNL with Eddie Murphy for 3 seasons. Though after leaving SNL, and after a few crappy film roles, he's been almost totally forgotten.

91. Eugene Levy
Actor/Writer
A Mighty Wind, SCTV, American Pie
A great comedy writer who got a major break as the Dad in the American Pie series, Eugene Levy has done some great work as far back as the early 70s. His best role may just in "A Might Wind".

90. Norm Macdonald
Actor/Writer/Comedian
Saturday Night Live, Dirty Work, The Norm Show
His almost monotone voice for every character he played on SNL, really adds to the overall humor of Norm MacDonald. He played Bob Dole duing the 1996 elections, and was the anchor of SNL's Weekend Update. He was fired from SNL because the NBC execs thought "He wasn't funny"

89. Harry Shearer
Actor/Writer/Voice Actor
This Is Spinal Tap, A Mighty Wind, The Simpsons
Harry Shearer is the man behind so many voices on The Simpsons, and he's also the bassist Derek Smalls of Spinal Tap

88. Eddie Izzard
Comedian/Actor
Eddie Izzard: Live at Ambassadors
This unusual transvestite comedian has put together some amazing shows. I strongly suggest picking up one of his dvds

87. Steve Guttenberg
Actor
Police Academy (1,2, and 3), Short Circuit, Three Men and a Baby
Very popular in the 80's, Steve Guttenberg had a great career that just seemed to die off for no reason. Guttenberg was great in his starring roles, including his role as Carrey Mahoney in the first 3 Police Academy movies

86. Chris Elliot
Actor
Saturday Night Live, Get a Life, Cabin Boy
This Saturday Night Live alumn had his own show on Fox, and starred in the classic comedy "Cabin Boy"

85. Tracey Morgan
Actor/Comedian
Saturday Night Live, Tracy Morgan Show
One of the "Other black guys on SNL", he was funny in any role he was given. He currently has his own sitcom.

84. Redman and Method Man
Actors/Musicians
How High
These two rappers have filmed without a doubt, the best stoner movie since Up In Smoke. How High is light years ahead of Half Baked.

83. Dane Cook
Comedian
Comedy Central Presents: Dane Cook
Dane Cook is pretty new to the public eye, but he has caught on quickly with fans. Beat out Stephen Lynch to place #1 in an online voting for "Comedy Central Presents" favorite stand-ups.

82. Stephen Lynch
Comedian/Musician
Comedy Central Presents: Stephen Lynch, Opie and Anthony Radio Show
This singing comedian, has written some outstanding songs about topics such has pedophile priests, hermaphrodites, and a fun use for gerbils. Placed #2 in "Comedy Central Presents" favorite stand-ups.

81. Ryan Styles
Actor/Comedian (improv)
The Drew Carrey Show, Who's Line is it Anyways?
A Canadian improv comedian played the character Lewis on The Drew Carrey Show, and is a regular on the improv show "Who's Line?"

Sexten Effect
Can't wait until he becomes famous so he can put himself on the list.
