 I took over Lethal because I thought it would be a nice diversion from life's stress. I also chug Jagermeister and lighter fluid cocktails to keep my liver healthy. THE RING POST has all you're looking for, minus the promised LOW BLOW that is still coming very very soon. In the meantime there's great new Zenk, Ginger and Jonny X so you have nothing to bitch about. Sure would like to be saying "let's talk wrestling" right about now. Oh well, let's get to it... You may have heard some nasty rumors over the last few days. Hell, you may have even heard some of them directly from us. "Lethal is dead", "That's the last we'll hear of that place", "The Hurricanes can hang against the Red Wings." While for a brief moment in time it looked like there was some truth to those (especially the last one... bunch of marks), thankfully they were born out to be just that: "rumors". Rest assured this was never planned, and DEFINITELY not what people who don't even really know what the term means have been calling a "work" (Proof: What was our motivation? "Hey, let's run an angle that shuts us down for four days and doesn't net a single new reader. I'm SURE we can wrest the 'gayest op board stunt ever' title from the Z-R Countdown now".) Now, because I love you (feel free to imagine a more tangible reason... like "time honored tradition" or some such crap... if you can't trick yourself into believing the first one), here is the whole sordid mess and fall-out from it. As some of you know, there's been some bad blood brewing between some of the staff and some of the mods at the forum. TRL had taken on a life of its own, and while in a perfect world everyone would have just been happy for everyone else's success, that didn't happen. This had been festering for months, to the point I washed my hands of being an admin over there and stopped dealing with the headaches. Some people are going to want to point their fingers at two people for why we've been down since Saturday night... I can assure you that things go a hell of a lot deeper than that, and have for awhile, with a list of names that spans a good part of the staff page. This wasn't just expected, sadly it was pretty much inevitable. Saturday night it finally came to a head. Don't look to me to try and put a positive spin on any of it or take a solid position one way or the other. After some shit talking turned to dares MMN deleted the forum, so Chuck redirected Lethal and for all intents and purposes killed it. I'm not going to try and speak for either of them, so if you want to see both give their reasons it's HERE at PHANTASMO'S infamous "Warp Asylum". As of Monday night the end result was that the writers of Lethal were "en masse" moving to a brand new URL, for the most part saddened by the end of something so many had worked so hard for, but excited about the prospect of starting from scratch. Then Negative Creep IMed me... and make no mistake kids, he's the reason you are reading this from the address you love so much. Well, the last day or so has been an absolute shitstorm of negotiating, mediating, and referreeing between the parties most involved and with things hopefully at least as solid as they were on Friday, here is where things stand: -Chuck is going to give TRL its own identity (and hopefully springboard that to really big things). It was too far reaching and too splintered to be the forum of a site who's front page dedication is to a specific topic. To make sure it has a chance to grow on its own and that all those who love it know exactly how to get there, for the next week our "Forum" page will take you directly to a banner link for it at its new location (as well as some other links for those of you who prefer their forums with a little less "attitude"... pussies). Other than some cross-linkage after that, this effectively ends Chuck's tenure at LW. -Creep now owns the URL. It couldn't be in safer hands. -I am the SOLE administrator. The buck stops with me. I answer to no one. -MMN is the webmaster. Tech-wise, the buck stops with him. Love or hate what he did, no one can argue that he’ll go to the extreme to protect the purity of the site. Time to set the whole damn world on fire, my nigga. So after all the fireworks, the long and short of it for the 95% of you that couldn't give less of a shit about "behind the scenes" stuff is that we were down for three days, we'll be making a new forum in a week or so, and Chuck is no longer a part of Lethal. If you've read up to here and think that he's the "bad guy" in all of this (or if you think that about MMN, for that matter) then I have done a horrible job of telling the story. This WAS going to happen one of these days. Now we can all concentrate on the things that are most important to us. The one thing I will NOT allow is for the guy who carried and busted his ass for this site, gave me the shot at running it, is directly or indirectly responsible for all but maybe three of us being here, and even LONG after he'd "stopped caring" about the front page still went through the painstaking chore of getting every single archived post back where everyone can enjoy them... to be treated with anything less than reverence. Ugly outcome, sad how it ended... nowhere NEAR bad enough to wipe away what Chuck has meant to Lethal (and to the writers, you're all familiar enough with the "zinger" exception to not have to IM me any time you want to mention his name). Oh yeah, and I’m re-hiring Dead Snoopy. The “what the fuck are you thinking?” flame e-mails go to the same address you usually kiss my ass at. If there's ever been a post I didn't want to write, it's this one. All the wrestling news going on that's tailor-made for our styles and we've been without a venue to exploit in on, and now I'm too pooped after all this nonsense to comment on any of it. Hopefully the time off has given the staff some time to re-energize and they're all chomping at the bit to deliver good stuff (haven't heard much, but I know Mob has something special on the horizon... and if recent history is any indicator, you'll want to check hourly for that before it gets eaten). And before the wall of rules is put back up and only wrestling content goes on this page, let me take a moment to recognize two people who really went "above and beyond" over the last few days. FsB and Sabotage both dropped everything to keep things moving at a time it was impossible for me to. Sab has no desire to write here again, but you'll be seeing his name as he puts up some "special" projects I'm pretty sure you'll all love. To the both of you, from the bottom of my heart, "thank you". That sentiment is echoed to all of you for your patience. With any luck, it will be at least Saturday before the next trauma springs up.
